Annual Paradise Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony with Christmas Songs Sunday Dec. 02, 2012 at 7pm at the usual spot: the Twp. Office. ****************************************** There have been questions about the "free meals in Paradise Park on Friday evenings in July." This is offered by Grace Point Church, Keystone Church, and The Factory Ministries and is part of a larger community program open to all that can be found here. Leacock Presbyterian Church also has monthly community meals here. ***************************************** Thanks to Pig Roast preparers and consumers! Many hours of work produced a great meal on Saturday...a big thank you to the Fire Co. and to those who "ate in" or the 800+ who "took out." Very successful event! Paradise Leaman Place Fire Company is hard at work all day Friday and on Sat. from early morning to prepare a PIG ROAST this Saturday, Nov. 17 from 12pm to 6pm Behind Wells Fargo Bank on Rt. 30 and Paradise Post Office. 717-687-7171 ***************************************** Donations of canned or dry food needed for Nov.18... There has been a huge outpouring of donations of clothing, so that is not needed at this time, and cleaning supplies are ample, too. However, non-perishable food, paper supplies, and cash to help pay for needs of displaced people are being sought, and the next delivery will be on Sunday, Nov. 18 to Staten Island where people are being fed and sheltered till electrical power is restored and homes can be repaired. The truck will be driven by Paradise Leaman Place Firemen, according to Dennis Groff and Nick Lopez. Thanks to all who donate in so many ways... It has been a very busy week, good hard work, for Nick Lopez, Sally Riehl, and Dennis Groff at the Paradise Twp. Office, receiving and organizing tons of materials; and many others have helped in so many ways. At 5pm Saturday, Nov. 10, 2012 the box truck and two trailer loads of donated products were delivered today to Staten Island collection points for victims of Hurricane Sandy and the trucks are about 30 minutes from home now! There may be more collected next week, but that decision has not been made yet. Check back here on Tuesday Nov. 13 for further information. ************************************************************** Help for Hurricane Sandy Victims in NYC and NJ Paradise Twp. has sent supplies last week on hand here for Hurricane Sandy, to Brooklyn/Queens, NYCity, and it was so much needed that Emergency Mg'mt. Coordinator Dennis Groff and Paradise and Kinzers Firemen are urging donations to send another shipment as soon as possible. New supplies being requested, or cash to purchase these are: Blankets Gloves Socks Knit hats Diapers Towels/Wash Cloths Paper goods Bed linens Cleaning Supplies Flat Shovels Brooms Garbage Bags Bottled Water Toilet paper These new items can be dropped off at the Paradise Twp. Offices by this Friday, Nov. 9 by 5:00pm, but please call first...717-768-8222. **************************************************************** The Tri-Centennial Committee is inviting everyone to our REALLY BIG 300th ANNIVERSARY COMMUNITY CELEBRATION September 15 and 16, 2012! 17:00hs 01.Mar.2010 Snow banks are still being pushed back on narrow roads in the region. The very slow melt is very good for the soil and the ground water and the creeks and rivers, but day time melt can still cause night time black ice. Easy does it, especially on curves and where water puddles...
***************************************************************
21:13hs 17.Feb.2010 A very good Town Hall meeting at the Paradise Fire Hall with Senator Mike Brubaker, and the snow is falling making road conditions very slippery again. Careful, careful, careful....
*******************************************************
21:32hs 16.Feb.2010 The roads are in fairly good shape now, but the daytime melt can become night time black ice, be extra careful, and please slow down.

11:30hs 15.Feb.2010 Happy President George Washington's Birthday! And President Lincoln's, too. Snow removal from roads continues as west winds blow drifts onto North-South roads. More light snow expected this evening into tonight. Be safe!

06:23hs 12.Feb.2010 Kinzer firefighter Curtis Lapp had an electrical fire in the attic and fortunately had a smoke detector in the attic which triggered before any scent of smoke was noticed on second floor. Snow hampered the Kinzer engines but Gap Fire Company was able to get in by Rt. 772 and saved the house. Cleanup is not scheduled yet, according to Curtis' brother Gene.

18:35hs 11.February.2010 A huge THANK YOU to all those who are helping others to dig out from this giant blizzard. Those who are using their own equipment to push snow, donating their time and effort to help others, and the Paradise Twp. crew who are working hard to get roads open all deserve a BIG round of applause. Thanks too for the cooperation of the public in driving safely as all this work is being done.
